The length of time you can borrow a book or library item (known as a loan period) depends on whether you are a Cortland student, faculty, staff, or community user. It also depends on the book or item you are borrowing.
For books in the Main Collection, or books and items (STEM kits, puppets, etc.) in the Teaching Materials Center (TMC) or other items (STEM kits, puppets, etc.) found in the Teaching Materials Center (TMC), you can generally borrow them for 16 weeks OR until the end of the semester, whichever comes first.
Please note that Faculty may have a longer loan period than students.
The loan period for books or other items through Interlibrary Loan are determined by the originating library. For more information, please visit the Interlibrary Loan page and/or Get Items from Other Libraries tab.
For more information about borrowing, please visit the Borrowing Policies page and/or the other information found in the Library Resources guide.
