The Testing Center at Memorial Library is not restricted to SUNY Cortland students. We accommodate any candidate who has registered for an exam sponsor/vendor we offer. Pearson VUE hosts hundreds of exam sponsors/vendors; SUNY Cortland Memorial Library works with a select few (catered to the needs of the campus community). Our Testing Center can accommodate up to ten candidates at once. All test administrators are certified annually.
Lockers are available for people to use to store their personal items while they are taking their test.
Test takers who will be late can call 607-753-5441. For all other questions/concerns, as per Pearson VUE Policy and Procedures, the candidate must contact Pearson. Test administrators are not to discuss exam scheduling information with a candidate.
Although the majority of tests are teacher certification exams (mainly NY, but other states, as well), we also offer strength and conditioning exams (personal trainer, group exercise instructor, exercise physiologist, etc.). If a candidate has questions about what specific exam(s) they need, but can’t find it through the sites listed below, they should contact their academic advisor.
Memorial Library does not accept any form of payment for an exam, nor do we schedule exams. Candidates must schedule their exams through the sites below. If they cancel an exam less than 24 hours of their scheduled appointment, they forfeit the money paid for the exam.
Candidates should visit the Pearson A to Z list of all programs to gain information about what exam(s) they may need.
Any candidate wishing to schedule a teacher certification exam must first register through New York State Teacher Certification Examinations (NYSTCE).
Typical NYSTCE exams are (these are the top exams, but not all that are offered):
Any candidate wishing to schedule a strength and conditioning certification exam must first register through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) at: www.acsm.org
