ONESearch supports wildcard characters to expand your search:
Wildcards cannot be the first character, nor within a phrase search.
The question mark (?) matches any one character. Ex.: Find Olsen or Olson using Ols?n. It will not find Olsson because there are two characters between s and n.
The question mark (?) isn't used at the end of a word, to avoid confusion when a question mark is a punctuation. Ex.: the ? in a search for who's afraid of virginia woolf? (with or without double quotes) is a punctuation mark, not a wildcard. The final term= woolf.
The asterisk (*) matches zero or more characters within a word or the end of a word. Ex.: Ch*ter = Charter, Character, and Chapter.
At the end of a word, the * includes all possible characters
Ex.: Temp* = Temptation, Temple, and Temporary.
