Accessibility at Memorial Library

ProQuest databases contain many PDFs which are ADA compliant. However, older content was created from scanned images of original text that is not accessible to screen readers. This content is identified throughout ProQuest with the label 'Scanned image PDF.'  

Proquest supports accessibility through:

• A JAWS implementation tested against Internet Explorer, which enables sight impaired students with clear navigation of their platform and resources.
• Color contract checking in accordance with W3C standards
• Manual keyboard checks.

ProQuest provides an accessibility Conformance Report for each of their databases and other products individually via their Accessibility Directory page.  They also provide information on remediation of materials that are not accessible.
