The New York State Department of Health (DOH) launched the Maximizing Essential Tools for Research Innovation and eXcellence Project, or the METRIX Project, in August 2011. The METRIX Project is a multi-year open government initiative designed to improve access to DOH data assets and expand creative use of this data beyond government by encouraging innovation and collaboration among stakeholders.
