Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows you to use ONESearch to request materials our library does not own.
Before placing ILL requests, please register, through the Library tab of MyRedDragon, by clicking on "Interlibrary Loan" under "Library Links and Resources," as shown.
To register, please login with your myRedDragon username (without "@cortland.edu") and password.
Fill out the form that follows. You will only be asked to do this once, and you will be set to place requests for the rest of your time at SUNY Cortland.
If your search in ONESearch leads you to an article (or other content) that we don't have in our collection, and you would like to use for your research, you may submit an Interlibrary Loan request. Please make sure you already have an account set up before doing so (see the Registration box on this page).
These articles often show up with either 'Check shelf' or 'Check available services' in the brief results. Click into the article.
Scroll down and you will see the 'Request Item via Interlibrary Loan' link. Click this link.
This will take you to an ILLiad logon screen, unless you already have ILLiad open in your browser. Click the 'Logon to ILLiad' button.
You will then be taken to a pre-populated request in ILLiad with the information passed in from ONESearch. Verify that all required fields are populated and submit the request.
ILLiad will send an email when the electronic article is received, often within 24 hrs. You can then access this article from your ILLiad account.
