The Purdue Online Writing Lab (commonly called "OWL") is an excellent resource for checking the formatting of citations, learning how to cite tricky or unusual items, creating in-text citations, and formatting your paper. Here is an example of a properly formatted journal article reference, provided by Purdue OWL:
EXAMPLE: Baniya, S., & Weech, S. (2019). Data and experience design: Negotiating community-oriented digital research with service-learning. Purdue Journal of Service-Learning and International Engagement, 6(1), 11–16. https://doi.org/10.5703/1288284316979
Please note that in your reference list, you should use a hanging indent for your reference section. In Word, expand the Paragraph menu, then use the drop-down "Special" menu and select Hanging.
