CRM 333: The Police

APA Citations in ONESearch

Make sure to cite your sources in your paper, whether you paraphrase or use direct quotes.

You may have learned in high school that references are important because they give others credit for their ideas.  In scholarly publications, they serve an equally important function:  references allow researchers to trace how ideas have evolved over time, and to find related research.  Knowledge in a discipline is always evolving, and references are your treasure map for the ongoing scholarly conversation surrounding a topic.

You will use APA citations in your projects for CRM 333.  Watch the video below to learn how to retrieve APA citations AUTOMATICALLY for articles you find in ONESearch.

Before submitting your citations, be sure to double-check them for accuracy.  For instance, the databases often fail to change the capitalization for citations; in APA, only the first word of the title, the first word of the subtitle, and proper nouns should be capitalized.
