How to create an account for the free digital newspaper subscriptions available through SUNY Cortland

SUNY Cortland provides access to the Wall Street Journal for current students, staff, and faculty. 

How Can I Register?

  1. Go to: wsj.com/ActivateSchool
  2. In the search bar, enter SUNY Cortland and select it. This will direct you to the MyRedDragon login page to verify you are current student, faculty or staff.
  3. You will then be taken to a page that will let you set up your account.
  4. Use drop-down menu to select Student, Staff, or Professor. If Student, select Graduation Year and Month.
  5. Enter first and last name.
  6. Type in e-mail. Important: Use your cortland.edu e-mail address!
  7. Create password.
  8. Check box agreeing to Privacy Policy, etc. as shown below.  Then Click on Create.

Displays check box next to "I agree to the Privacy Policy, Subscriber Agreement, Cookie Policy".

Congratulations! You're now registered! 

What if I already subscribe?

WSJ does not allow two subscriptions for the same user at the same time. You'll need to:

1) Cancel your existing subscription-call Customer Service to cancel at 1-800-JOURNAL (1-800-568-7625) and ask for the Education team. 

2) Refer to registration directions above to sign up for a new subscription through SUNY Cortland

For future access, go to library databases in myRedDragon or to the WSJ homepage on any device: https://www.wsj.com/
