Factors in Their Lives Assignment
This semester-long writing assignment is a journey to individually understand a factor related to the success of students with disabilities and their families. It begins with your interest and research. You will then connect your topic to the memoirs you read for class, Love You to Pieces… (Kamata, 2008) and The Reason I Jump (Higashida, 2017).
Based on your research and understanding of one student (theoretical or actual), you will create an appendix illustrating how to incorporate best practices related to that factor within IEP planning. Your appendix will include present levels of performance, standards, annual goals, and objectives.
