Our area has many different libraries that can help you with your research, professional development, and leisure. Please contact these libraries prior to your visit to inquire about their current policies and rates. Don't forget that faculty, staff, and enrolled students can also order books from all of these libraries - and others - through our interlibrary loan service.

Cornell University offers guest borrower cards for all NY residents, and Syracuse University offers guest borrower cards for a $100 annual fee.
New York Public Library (NYPL), available to all NY residents and workers at no cost, allows you apply online and access many of their online resources. See our NYPL page for additional information.
Cortland Free Library allows college students living in Cortland to sign up for a card with college ID, photo ID and proof of local and home addresses. This will provide access to databases and e-books in the Finger Lakes Library System.
For legal research, you can visit Cornell Law Library or Syracuse University Law Library. The New York State Unified Court System also has public access law libraries in each county (the closest is in the Cortland County Courthouse.)
