Bb Learn 9.1 is the current learning management system (eLearning) at SUNY Cortland. Faculty utilize the eLearning system to enhance their face-to-face courses by offering items like class notes, email communications, access to the online grade book, online class discussion, and Just-in-Time teaching strategies. Faculty also use the eLearning environment for online and hybrid course offerings.

ITDS provides one-on-one and group assistance to faculty who are using eLearning. ITDS also provides walkins for students to assist in navigating the platform. An in-class demonstration can be requested at least two weeks in advance.

Bb Community provides online collaboration space for campus groups, clubs, committees, faculty, students, and administration.  These collaboration spaces will be familiar to users since they are modeled after the course environment used every day. ITDS provides one-on-one and group assistance to faculty who are using Bb Community.

Blackboard Community is also the repository for Reserves. For more information about the Library Reserves Community go to the library reserves page

Bb Collaborate
offers a highly engaging and effective virtual meeting and webinar platform for non academics available anywhere at anytime.  ITDS provides account setup and assistance in setting up these online meeting spaces.

With Blackboard Collaborate, you can teach in real time, or anytime, directly from Blackboard Learn. You can pre-record lectures or have interactive meetings with students.  Built-in tools that assist in engaging the student are: two-way VoIP, multi-point video, built-in phone conferencing, interactive whiteboard, application and desktop sharing, rich media, breakout rooms, mobile collaboration, and session recording.

There is no longer a need to be tied to a desktop or laptop to attend a Collaborate session.  A new mobile app (free) is available so you can attend and participate in a session from anywhere.

ITDS provides faculty and student assistance in setting up and utilizing the Collaborate tool. In class demonstrations can be provided upon request.
